Peirano Estate, 6 Clones Merlot 2021

The Peirano family have been farming and producing wine in California's Lodi for over 5 generations. Boasting some of the oldest vines the region has to offer (Zinfandel over 130 years old!) they are all about refinement and making distinctively rich and balanced wines. 6 Clones Merlot 2021 is taken from, unsurprisingly, 6 different clones of Merlot vines from across the Peirano estate. Legend has it that they were propagated from some of the best vineyards in Bordeaux, Tuscany and Napa before being brought back to Lodi and cloned for this Merlot. Aromas of maraschino cherries, black cherry, cranberry and plum moves to a smooth palate with more fruity notes along with touch of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove thanks to its time spent in oak.
